I have read a few negatives reviews prior to our trip but definitely think some people are very fussy. The smell: so many reviews said how horrible it was but it really wasn't that bad.
Having vacationed in the carribean quite a bit, that smell tends to be everywhere. It is very humid and not that bad.
Service: We did get some negative service. For example the housekeeper took my boyfriends white lululemon hoodie they arent cheap one day and it was impossible to get it back.
They kinda just brushed us off and said if its in with the laundry, we shouldnt bother trying to get it back. We absolutely loved the food, especially the 24hour restaurant on the boulevard.
Which brings me to the boulevard. Many people complained about how far it was, but it is meant to be sort of an off resort shopping centre. There are shops by the lobby if you need to buy anything.
Then a short walk away is the boulevard where you can do actual shopping on your resort rather than taking a taxi off-resort. We really enjoyed it and will book a swim up again in the future.
Staff: This was probably our favourite part of the entire resort. We spent each morning having breakfast at the buffet outside. The staff there were so kind and made it a fun way to start our day.
We laughed so much and they really took time to make our mornings special. We also spent every evening in the lobby bar. This is where we had the most fun!
We had the same bartenders every night and they were so fun. They always had a smile on their face and would be so personable. They ere so kind to us and Nahum even created us our own special drink for the week.
It was quite a hit and even other people there were asking for our drink all week! We went through some issues with other guests who were too intoxicated at the bar and they always made sure we felt safe when returning.
We were super sad to leave and hope the best for them!! We ended up leaving on March 18th, right when the resort was closing and everyone was losing their jobs.
Despite the horrible situation that was happening, the staff never once made us feel they were going through anything. We really hope they are able to open up and provide employment for all of these special people.

More bad than good. Ok the good : scenery , absolutely beautiful with great taste of furniture and architecture. Food is good and the a la carte restaurants are awesome with awesome decor.
Beach was ok , they need more chairs. I never had problems with chairs in 5 star resorts. Rooms are spacious and pretty but most rooms had mold unfortunately.
Drinks are fabulous too! The bad : mold.. Flooding in rooms from rain which destroyed some belongings.. He has some friends that work on the resort and tries to get the clients to give them Money for favors like reserving chairs and discounts etc..
I have pictures and videos if anyone cares.. I would like to add , if u want real 5 star service then go elsewhere. It is a beautiful resort though , what a shame!

Angelo Richez for making us surprise drinks that were delicious! Junior Castillo made excellent wine recommendations in the wine bar and you can also find him in the Mexican restaurant.
These people were so attentive, so much fun and so friendly to us we are going to miss them! We had a little issue with our bracelets letting us into our rooms and had to wait for someone to come with a computer to unlock our door which was inconvenient but enjoyed our rooms none the less.
Smell: People talk about a smell that I was also concerned about which I felt there was only a really strong smell entered the lobby from the side and it was more in scents smell than bad smell.

Resort is shutting down piece by piece, services, stores are closing We are still here! This is not right!!!
And Air Transat, shame on you! We left Canada before the restrictions and you are not allowing us to leave and be with OUR loved ones.
Never again! So, Lopesan is a beautiful resort with many superficial issues that need to be resolved. Hopefully these will be addressed during this imminent shut down.

Grand is an understatement. As you enter the hotel you are met by splendour immediately, marble and chandeliers that look like they belong in a Palace.
Our room was very spacious but could of been made better by a few minor things such as a waste bin in the living area.
We had a large suite but only a small bin in the bathroom. Another nice touch would be some TV channels in English, all you could get was the news although a DVD player was included, DVD films are not something you would consider packing we wouldn't normally chose a hotel so big as we prefer the more intermate feel of a relaxed holiday but all staff were very friendly and more than happy to help when needed.

Lopesan did everything to still let you enjoy a safe and careless holiday during Covid times. Unfortunately we had to leave 3days earlier than foreseen because Belgium changed Spain with exception to Tenerife to code red.
I really do not understand why. Not once did I think I would get infected. I felt much much safer there then in Belgium and Lopesan really is responsible for a big part of that.
Hand gel present behind every corner and in every elevator for after you touch the buttons. As you get up from your sunbed or table at the bar it completely gets desinfected and they put a sticker on it to let the next person know it is safe to use Food is still in buffet form, but you can either take a prepared plate or ask the cooks, staff to serve you.
They will then hand you the plate. I just thought I had to mention this first in these times! Now for the room and hotel itsef, I really cannot think of any negative points!
As always Lopesan provides great services and we will definately come back to Lopesan hotels. We had booked our 4th stay in the Costa Meloneras Resort and because this hotel remains closed until due to big renovations, we were rebooked in a junior suite at Villa del Conde and enjoyed every minute of it.
If I do have to give 1 remark, it would be that the evening shows feel more 3star hotel worthy. But that is not why we go on holiday. Might be the case for other people.

Lovely, but Beautiful hotel, nicely designed and the staff were a delight. We had a standard double not the economy double and the room was spacious and well located, overlooking well kept gardens.
The pools were many and again set in well kept gardens - sunbeds a plenty! The views to the ocean were fabulous. Who eats Luke warm bacon, egg and beans?
So it may be worth packing one if you like a hot drink in your room. The tiles in the pool need attention with many missing, and the fountains in the large pools never worked the whole time we were there 10 days.
Twice we returned to find our room cleaned but no new loo roll, leaving us with insufficient paper and the need to contact reception - it seemed toilet paper is rationed.

We had a seaside view and it was worth it. This is subjective of course, but we love buildings that respect local architecture and fit well within the cultural story of the place we visit.
This is most likely not an ideal situation for any in the hotel business and the added stress of having to deal daily with potentially infected tourists and not all respecting pandemic control measures I'm sure it's not making it easy.
Considering this, we loved the staff as they were always helpful, informative and friendly. I have no idea how they manage but almost ay piece of beef, no matter what cut they had, cooked was close to perfect: medium rare, tender and full of flavor.
However, the videos made no mention of gym and sauna facilities and, at arrival, we found out the gym was actually closed, as was the Spa section.
We did not like this since these are points that should be clearly described on the Lopesan COVID information material. Feels like a lie by omission.
The only place we could get adequate signal on any of our devices was in bed. The existing ones are badly placed. For example, charging the phone overnight means having it across the room from the bed.
This is actually worst than having a clearly good or bad experience because you actually loose trust.
Over the course of the week, the food quality started high , but quite quickly became less well prepared and less tasty.
Except for the steak section. In the beginning the dining experience was actually a gourmet experience, delicious dishes and very nice plating.
However, over the course of the week we noticed a slow quality decrease and not simply our adjusting to the food. I am not sure if they make these in house or it is catering, but it was terrible.
I would suggest reducing the number of dishes and concentrating on a handful that are well made. We were lucky we had no adiacent neighbours but we could still hear the our neighbours from the floor below talking, as well as the neighbours from 2 rooms over :.
We could see glass walls that probably make for an incredible experience when in the sauna or the inside pools. We'll probabably want to re-visit just for trying the spa section.
Room Tip: Sea view is worth it. Ask for help if looking for a more quiet room since the soundproofing is bad.

Fix hours to get your breakfast and dinner you can chose them from the available one but if hotel is full prepare to have breafast very early Restaurants around are ok but some are crazy.

I have read a few negatives reviews prior to our trip but definitely think some people are very fussy. The smell: so many reviews said how horrible it was but it really wasn't that bad.
Having vacationed in the carribean quite a bit, that smell tends to be everywhere. It is very humid and not that bad. Service: We did get some negative service.
For example the housekeeper took my boyfriends white lululemon hoodie they arent cheap one day and it was impossible to get it back. They kinda just brushed us off and said if its in with the laundry, we shouldnt bother trying to get it back.
We absolutely loved the food, especially the 24hour restaurant on the boulevard. Which brings me to the boulevard.
Many people complained about how far it was, but it is meant to be sort of an off resort shopping centre. There are shops by the lobby if you need to buy anything.
Then a short walk away is the boulevard where you can do actual shopping on your resort rather than taking a taxi off-resort. We really enjoyed it and will book a swim up again in the future.
Staff: This was probably our favourite part of the entire resort. We spent each morning having breakfast at the buffet outside.
The staff there were so kind and made it a fun way to start our day. We laughed so much and they really took time to make our mornings special.
We also spent every evening in the lobby bar. This is where we had the most fun! We had the same bartenders every night and they were so fun.
They always had a smile on their face and would be so personable. They ere so kind to us and Nahum even created us our own special drink for the week.
It was quite a hit and even other people there were asking for our drink all week! We went through some issues with other guests who were too intoxicated at the bar and they always made sure we felt safe when returning.
We were super sad to leave and hope the best for them!! We ended up leaving on March 18th, right when the resort was closing and everyone was losing their jobs.
Despite the horrible situation that was happening, the staff never once made us feel they were going through anything.
We really hope they are able to open up and provide employment for all of these special people. Definitely a beautiful resort that we would recommend to anyone!!

More bad than good. Ok the good : scenery , absolutely beautiful with great taste of furniture and architecture.
Food is good and the a la carte restaurants are awesome with awesome decor. Beach was ok , they need more chairs.
I never had problems with chairs in 5 star resorts. Rooms are spacious and pretty but most rooms had mold unfortunately.
Drinks are fabulous too! The bad : mold.. Flooding in rooms from rain which destroyed some belongings..
He has some friends that work on the resort and tries to get the clients to give them Money for favors like reserving chairs and discounts etc..
I have pictures and videos if anyone cares.. I would like to add , if u want real 5 star service then go elsewhere.

Not only was the location absolutely beautiful but also did we have amazing food, a great service and very friendly staff. The rooms are super clean and spacious.

Fantastic time at the Lopesan! Angelo Richez for making us surprise drinks that were delicious! Junior Castillo made excellent wine recommendations in the wine bar and you can also find him in the Mexican restaurant.
These people were so attentive, so much fun and so friendly to us we are going to miss them! We had a little issue with our bracelets letting us into our rooms and had to wait for someone to come with a computer to unlock our door which was inconvenient but enjoyed our rooms none the less.
Smell: People talk about a smell that I was also concerned about which I felt there was only a really strong smell entered the lobby from the side and it was more in scents smell than bad smell.
